Patriarchy Isn't Protection — A Response to Doug Wilson’s Theology of Victim Blaming

I wrote a piece for Christian Century examining Christian nationalist pastor Doug Wilson's theology of sexual violence — his claim that women's submission to patriarchy is what prevents rape. Drawing on my own research and experience, I push back on that framing and on what's at stake as Wilson's influence grows in Washington. This one was hard to write, but felt necessary.
