My Artificial Chaplains' Named a Top Read of 2025

Thrilled to share that my essay "My Artificial Chaplains" was named one of Christian Century's ten most-read articles of 2025! I wrote it while recovering from a hiking accident, of all things—flat on my back, testing out a lineup of AI spiritual counselors with the same theological question and seeing what (and who) actually showed up. It's one of the most fun pieces I've written, and also one of the most serious: a real look at what pastoral presence requires that a chatbot simply can't fake.
